Join us in the parking lot to explore all kinds of vehicles, including a fire truck, a garbage truck, a delivery van, and more! Refreshments also provided while supplies last. Please do not use horns or sirens during the first 20 minutes of the event, for the comfort and safety of patrons with sensitivities to noise.

An award-winning program for children ages 2-3 and their parents and caregivers that combines music, movement, visual literacy and language development. Mother Goose on the Loose helps children develop emotionally and socially while encouraging a positive attitude towards learning!
Get ready to embark on an incredible journey of discovery! Join Wild Things as we delve into the fascinating world of wildlife, exploring some of the most intriguing and beautiful animals that live right alongside us. From fur to feathers to scales, we’ll take you up close and personal with a diverse range of native species. Through their individual rescue stories, and with a sense of fun and humor, we’ll share a conservation message and inspire an appreciation for the amazing creatures that share our world. So grab your camera, and come along on a wild ride!
Let’s kick off the 2023 Summer Reading Program together! Enjoy the fresh air with an expert-led nature walk. Talk, read, sing, and play at storytime. Dance to the sweet sounds of Cascada de Flores. Learn about local wildlife, conservation groups, nearby hiking trails, recreational opportunities and more at this family-friendly event!
Schedule of Activities:
9 am – Information and resource fair featuring local wildlife and conservation organizations and activities
9:30 am – Nature Walk with Tuleyome and Latino Outdoors. Nature bingo and prizes, too!
10:30 am – Bilingual Storytime with Yolo County Library
11 am – Interactive music with Cascada de Flores
Be prepared for summer weather and bring sun protection and water. Snacks, a blanket, and sturdy walking shoes are also recommended.

The Fenix Drum and Dance Company will help us kick off the Summer Reading season by telling stories and teaching traditional African dances around a drum circle. Members of the audience are encouraged to join in the drum circle and learn the dances! Percussion instruments will be provided at this all-ages program.

Conservation Ambassadors’ Wild Things was founded in 1987 for the purpose of housing and caring for displaced wildlife. With the help of these animal ambassadors, they have been educating the public with a message of conservation and appreciation for natural wonders for over 35 years. No registration required.
Get ready to make some fun art pieces with artist Elaine Nguyen! Cyanotypes, sometimes called sun prints, are a unique way of making art where we use the sun’s power to create images in shades of blue and white. In this workshop, we will use plants and objects from our environment to create beautiful images. You will have the opportunity to mix and match objects, test out the varying shades of blue you can create using UV exposure, and get to take home an exciting piece of art.
