Facilities updates

Yolo County Library periodically updates, upgrades and replaces resources to enhance public access, service, and convenience. Community input and technical expertise provide valuable information as we move forward with these projects.

New Yolo Branch Library Building

Facilities Master Plan
The Yolo County Library undertook a facilities master planning process in early 2017 to plan for library services to meet the changing needs of Yolo County residents through 2035.

The planning team investigated economic, demographic, and library services trends, collected data in community forums and surveys, and interviewed key library stakeholders. The planning team’s findings indicate that Yolo County’s population and economy will grow significantly during this time period, and library services and facilities will need to expand to meet this demand.

The facilities master plan includes specific recommendations for each library branch. These recommendations will inform the Library’s ability to meet current and future library service needs based on Yolo County’s growth and to address currently underserved areas.

Yolo County Archives and Records Center Renovation
The Yolo County Archives and Records Center will be undergoing a renovation in the spring of 2018 to increase storage capacity and improve the control over the temperature and humidity of the facility. These changes will help to ensure that the existing collection is well preserved and that there is sufficient space for future acquisitions.
