Summer Reading Program
Join us for our Summer Reading Program, June 1 - August 15.
The Summer Reading Program at Yolo County Library helps promote literacy for people all ages by providing incentives to grow and sustain a lifelong reading habit.
Research indicates that summer reading programs help children and teens retain and enhance their reading skills over the summer, provide a haven for community readers, and develop reading enthusiasm reading.
How Does It Work?
- Sign up online beginning June 1. Complete your registration at any library branch and pick up your FREE BOOK!
- Read and log your reading on Beanstack. ALL READING COUNTS!
- Complete fun learning activities to earn badges.
- Earn rewards for completing the program.

Rewards
EVERYONE who finishes the program gets a free book of their choice.
Children Ages 0-12
- Reading medal*
- Certificates for a free kid’s meal at Raising Cane’s and Panda Express
* children ages 0-2 can get a tote bag instead of a medal
Teen ages 13-17
- Reading medal OR tote bag
Adult ages 18+
- Tote bag
BONUS: Keep reading after you finish the program to earn another FREE book!
Bring your completed gameboard to any library branch by August 15 to get entered into the grand prize drawing and pick up your rewards.*
