As Californians, we live in a geologist’s paradise. The rocks from the Pacific coast to the Sierra Nevada mountains record the state’s complex geologic history. To better understand and appreciate the land around us, let’s construct a model one geologic step at a time with clay. In this one-hour workshop, you’ll fly through about 200 million years of time!

Join Fiona—a recent graduate of UC Davis’ Earth and Planetary Science department’s master’s program—and create a clay model of our region of California. She’ll bring her geologic expertise and a suite of rock samples. All materials provided.
