3D Printers

All 3D Printer projects have to meet the following criteria.

Yolo County Library ’s 3D printers may be used only for lawful purposes. 3D printers may NOT be used for the creation of material that is:
- Illegal —Prohibited by an local, state or federal law;
- Unsafe or dangerous including, but not limited to: guns, knives, weapons of any kind;
- Obscene or otherwise inappropriate for the library environment;
- Under copyright, patent, trademark, or otherwise legally protected.
The Library reserves the right to refuse any 3D print request.
Use of the 3D printers is open to all Yolo County Library cardholders age 13 and older who are in good standing, have viewed the Library ’s suggested instructional video(s) or have sufficient prior experience with 3D printers, and have signed and completed the attached User Agreement and Liability Waiver.
3D printing at the Library is currently free, but a fee may be charged in the future to cover the printing costs.
Patrons may be charged for damages to library equipment. This cost will cover repair or replacement of the damaged equipment (up to $2,500 for the printer, up to $2,000 for the laptop).
The Library is not responsible for any loss of data or damage to the user ’s equipment arising from the use of its computers or network.

Winters Community Library

Winters operates the 3d printer as a part of our Tech Tuesday/Thursday weekly program where staff can assist with minor technology issues including 3D printing.

All 3D Printer projects have to be scheduled in advance and meet the following criteria.

Print time of ≤4 hours - The max amount of time for a print job should be under 4 hours, including prep and removal.
Fit within the build plate or split into parts - The max size of our printer is 256 x 256 x 256mm or about 10 x 10 x 10in
