Family Movie Afternoon

Inspired by the 1987 true story, “McFarland, USA” follows novice runners from McFarland, an economically challenged town in California’s farm-rich Central Valley, as they give their all to build a cross-country team under the direction of Coach Jim White (Kevin Costner), a newcomer to their predominantly Latino high school. Rated PG for thematic material, some violence and language.

This exhibition examines the role of storytelling in the development of cultural practice and cultural understanding of life and death. Explore how myth, fairytales, and storytelling have been used for centuries to help us make sense of the world and prepare us for darker times.
