Automatic Renewal
Yolo County Library is excited to announce that it has enabled the automatic renewal service for all Yolo County Library cardholders.
This service automatically renews checked out books, DVDs, and CDs up to three times. Items will be automatically renewed four (4) days before the due date – or two (2) days for DVDs – as long as no holds have been placed on them by other library customers. Some items will not be automatically renewed so please check your library account regularly. Items may be renewed a maximum of three (3) times.
Yolo County Library’s courtesy email notice will inform library cardholders of items that are checked out. Library patrons should log into their library account to see the status of their checked out items and return any items due before the listed due date. The courtesy notice is only sent to library patrons with a valid email address attached to their library account. To update your library account, please contact your library branch.
When will items automatically renew?
The system will attempt to renew item(s) four (4) days before their due date – or two (2) days for DVDs. Items that are eligible are checked out on your account for an additional 3 weeks (one week for DVDs), from the original due date. The new due date is calculated from the previous due date, not from the renewal date.
What items automatically renew?
Most physical items that have been checked out on your library card may be eligible for up to three (3) renewals. See below for conditions that prevent items from being automatically renewed.
What conditions prevent items from being automatically renewed?

•Items that have reached their renewal limit, three (3) times for most materials
•Items with a hold or outstanding request
•Digital items such as eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines
•LINK+ items
•Accounts with fines and fees that exceed $10
Am I still able to renew materials on my own?
