Social Media Policy
Yolo County Library provides the following disclaimers per Yolo County Social Media Policy for all Yolo County Library social media accounts:
The purpose of this site is to communicate matters of public interest in Yolo County related to the Yolo County Library. This is a moderated, online discussion site and not a public forum. This site will not be used for political purposes. The County reserves the right to delete submissions that contain:
a. Vulgar language or sexually explicit comments or content
b. Personal attacks of any kind
c. Potential libelous comments
d. Content that promotes, fosters or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, genetics, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or intellectual disability or sexual orientation
e. Spam, advertisements or links to other sites
f. Content that is off topic or not directly related to the business of the County of Yolo
g. Promotion of illegal activities
h. Content that promotes or opposes political organizations
i. Content that is posted under an anonymous social media account, content that is discovered to have been posted using a fake or robot social media account
j. Infringements on copyrights or trademarks
k. Personal and/or identifiable medical information
l. Information that may compromise the safety, security or proceedings of public systems or any criminal or civil investigations
Responding to residents via social media is not required by Yolo County employees and should not be expected by residents. Residents should contact the County with questions and concerns using traditional methods such as in person, over the phone, and/or through the mail.
If the County or the Department allows for comments on their social media feed then it is expected that residents will follow the comment guidelines provided in Section 5. The County reserves the right to delete comments that do not follow these guidelines
