Davis Parcel Tax information
In November 2024, Davis voters approved Measure T, which increased the special tax for the Yolo County Library, with funds earmarked for the expansion of the facilities and services of the Mary L. Stephens Davis Branch Library and funding for library services at the new Walnut Park Library in South Davis. The library parcel tax for the fiscal year 2025-26 is $172.22 for a single-family residence and $86.11 per unit for a multi-family residence.
Exemptions to the special tax are granted for the following:
1. Property zoned and used for agriculture and not containing a residence. To qualify for the agricultural exemption for 2025-26, complete the Application for Agricultural Special Tax Exemption form and mail to SCI Consulting Group at the address listed below.
2. A property which is not buildable or developable because of some reasonably permanent incapacity, including odd parcels or pieces which for historic or other reasons have not been merged into adjacent parcels, but which, because of size or other reasonably permanent disability, do not, or cannot, comprise a separate building site.
3. Property owned and occupied by persons of low income. “Persons of low income” shall mean property owner/occupants where total household income is less than $62,400 for 2024.
To qualify for the low-income exemption for 2025-26, complete the Application for Low-Income Special Tax Exemption form (English or Español) and provide verification of income using either the 2025 Low Income Exemption Application (English or Español) or submitting a copy of your 2024 income tax return. Required documents should be mailed to SCI Consulting Group at the address listed below. Instructions can be found here (English or Español).
A separate exemption must be completed for each parcel on which an exemption is requested. No additional documentation providing proof of ownership is required.
The deadline to file for an exemption from the Davis special library parcel tax is June 1, 2025.
