Kits & Technology
Curated resources for all ages and stages of life. Learn a new skill, practice self-care, host a book club, access technology, connect with family and friends, explore local history, or help young children develop pre-literacy skills, become bilingual and bi-literate, learn daily living skills, and prepare for school. Unless otherwise stated, kits can be borrowed for 4 weeks, no renewals.

Adaptive Learning Kits
Includes storybooks, adapted books, puppets, fidgets, music, DVDs, and sensory manipulatives. For ages 0 – 6.
Bilingual Backpacks
Includes books in Spanish and English, plus one of the following: felt storyboard and puppet, games, or musical instruments. For ages 0 – 8.
Board Games
Includes popular board games for school-aged children through adults to borrow. Thinking of buying a new game? Try it out for free first. For ages 6+.
Conversation Backpacks
Includes pictures books and discussion tips for complex topics, including: Body Boundaries & Consent; Bullying; Climate Change; Death & Grief; Disability; Divorce; Gender Expressions; Homelessness; Mental Health; Moving; Racism; and Violence in the News. For ages 4 – 8.
Earth Friendly Kits
Includes informational books and related educational materials for the following themes: Trash and Recycling; Rivers, Lakes and Oceans; and Trees and Forests. For ages 2 – 8.
Nature Explorer Backpacks
Includes educational materials in English and Spanish and equipment to investigate the animals and plants that make Yolo County their home. For ages 2 – 12.
School Readiness Kits
Includes themed informational books with related educational materials. For ages 0 – 6.

Includes books and learning games to help emergent readers build stronger reading skills. Each backpack focuses on a different decoding skill that children need to become master readers. For ages 4 – 7.

California State Library Parks Pass Backpacks
