- Read 10 books: Mark off one space for every book you finish or
- Read on 10 days: Mark off one space on each day you spend some time reading or
- Read for 10 hours: Mark off one space for every hour you read. You do not have to read the whole hour in one sitting; if you read 15 minutes a day for four days, you have read 1 hour.

Finish by August 31st to be entered in the Grand Prize drawing. Game boards can be returned for finishing prizes until September 30th (or while supplies last).

The Summer Reading Program at Yolo County Library helps promote literacy for people of all ages by providing incentives to develop and sustain a lifelong reading habit. Research indicates that summer reading programs help children and teens retain and enhance their reading skills over the summer, provide a haven for community readers, and develop reading enthusiasm. Additionally, adult participation encourages parents to play a strong role in their child’s literacy development by reading aloud with their child and modeling good reading behavior.
