Celebrate Dia de los Ninos

Posted on

Join the celebration of Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros!  Everyone is welcome to participate in the free, fun, and educational celebrations taking place at Yolo County Library during the month of April. Children attending will receive a free book and enjoy educational activities, watch a special performance at select locations, or listen to a story time program.

Many nations throughout the world celebrate Día de los Niños in the spring to honor and celebrate children – who represent the hopes and dreams of every community. Día de los Niños emphasizes the importance of literacy for children from all backgrounds while encouraging libraries and community organizations to inspire and empower new generations of achievers. The event also connects children and their families to diverse books, languages, and cultures.

“As part of Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros, we recognize and respect that culture, heritage, and language as powerful tools for strengthening family learning,” said Yolo Reads Program Coordinator, Nancy Pacheco. “In addition to these Día events, Yolo County Library celebrates reading every day of the year by offering a variety of high quality, free early literacy experiences for children, parents and caregivers.”
